TIPS AND TRICKS
---------------
COMMODORE MICROCOMPUTERS MAGAZINE
September/October, 1986
TIPS AND TRICKS is a Commodore
magazine feature devoted to sharing
short programs, programming tips, and
other items of interest sent in by
Commodore magazine subscribers.
TIPS AND TRICKS contains these short
programs this month:
TAPS and ASSEMBLY by Louis Sander
---------------------------------
Because military bugle calls are
musically very simple, they lend
themselves well to computer
reproduction. From the TIPS AND
TRICKS menu, you can select "Taps" and
"Assembly". If you have a Commodore
128, you can hear the C-128 versions
of these tunes by returning to 128
mode and choosing the tunes from the
128 menu.
NUMBER PICKER by Louis Sander
-----------------------------
NUMBER PICKER generates numbers at
random-- without duplication. List
this program to learn more about the
handy routine that accomplishes this.
END FINDER by Marilyn Annucci
-----------------------------
This handy program finds the end
address of any program on a disk.
Just enter the filename you want to
examine, and the program will tell you
the last byte in memory used by that
file.
DOS DISABLER by Louis Sander
----------------------------
Some Commodore 64 programs are
incompatible with the DOS 5.1 wedge.
If this program finds that the wedge
is active, it disables the wedge.
Put this program at the beginning of
your incompatible programs.
PIECE DE RESISTANCE by Georg Simon
----------------------------------
"Piece de resistance" usually means
the principle course of a meal-- or an
outstanding achievement. This graphic
gives a high-tech twist to the term.
